Les gants moto été sont-ils moins protecteurs que les gants hiver ?
Pas nécessairement. Les gants été peuvent être homologués CE niveau 2 (le maximum) malgré leur coupe légère. La différence n'est pas dans la protection CE mais dans les matériaux : les gants été utilisent du cuir perforé, du mesh ou du textile aéré qui offre une résistance à l'abrasion similaire mais une ventilation bien supérieure. Choisissez des gants été avec renforts paume, articulations protégées et niveau CE visible.

Quels matériaux choisir pour des gants moto été ?
Cuir de chèvre perforé : léger, souple, excellente transmission des commandes — le top pour les sportifs. Mesh textile (Airflow) : ventilation maximale, lavable en machine, moins résistant à l'abrasion que le cuir sur glisse longue. Cuir vachette microperforé : bon compromis résistance/ventilation. Evitez les gants trop légers — même en été, une chute sur bitume à 50 km/h sans protection de paume laisse des marques profondes.

Comment entretenir des gants moto été en cuir ?
Nettoyez avec un chiffon humide et un savon doux pour cuir — jamais de produits chimiques agressifs. Appliquez un conditionneur cuir (Leather Master, Saphir) tous les 2 à 3 mois pour éviter que le cuir sèche et craquèle. Séchez à l'air libre, jamais au radiateur. Si le cuir perforé est utilisé sous la pluie, laissez sécher à plat.

Peut-on légalement porter des gants demi-doigts à moto ?
Les gants demi-doigts (doigts coupés) sans homologation CE ne satisfont pas à l'obligation légale des gants CE EN 13594 qui s'applique depuis 2016 en France. Seuls des gants demi-doigts portant le marquage CE EN 13594 seraient légalement conformes — mais ils sont rares car difficiles à homologuer sans protection complète des phalanges. En pratique, portez des gants CE pleine main.

A partir de quelle température passer aux gants moto été ?
Les gants moto été sont confortables entre 20 et 35 degrés Celsius. En dessous de 18 à 20 degrés, la ventilation des gants été génère un froid inconfortable et peut provoquer un engourdissement des mains — signe d'une baisse de réactivité sur les commandes. Dès l'automne ou au-delà de 900 m d'altitude en été, prévoyez des mi-saison en plus.
