ARMALITH® vs. Kevlar: The motorcycle jeans revolution is underway

Stronger than Kevlar. More comfortable than regular jeans. ARMALITH®, the fabric that's revolutionizing motorcycle protection – and the way you ride.
Looking for a pair of motorcycle jeans that really protect, without looking like a track suit? Welcome to the world of ARMALITH® : the only denim in the world that can compete with leather… while maintaining the look, flexibility, and comfort of classic jeans.
Forget heavy, stiff Kevlar-lined jeans: ARMALITH® goes further. This innovative fabric is used in aerospace, bulletproof vests, and now... in your CE-approved motorcycle protective gear.
A textile technology unique in the world
ARMALITH® is a unique fabric, the result of patented textile technology. It combines the comfort and appearance of classic denim with the mechanical strength of fibers from the aerospace industry: UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene).
The result? A garment that looks like jeans to the naked eye, but offers protection comparable to leather in the event of a slip.
Composition of ARMALITH®:
-
Cotton (up to 50-60%) : Provides flexibility, breathability and a natural denim look.
-
UHMWPE (approx. 30-40%) : Ultra-strong fiber used in aerospace and bulletproof vests.
-
Lycra / Spandex (5-10%) : Adds stretch for maximum comfort.
This single-layer structure guarantees lightness, thinness and an enormous capacity for invisible protection .

Key benefits:
-
✅ Superior Kevlar resistance : Slides up to 32 m without tearing.
-
✅ CE AA Approval : Certified protection for serious motorcycle use.
-
✅ Casual look : Real jeans, not stiff reinforced pants.
-
✅ Stretch (up to 25%) : Full mobility in the driving position.
-
✅ Breathability & Lightness : Wear all day without discomfort.
For demanding bikers who want it all: style + safety
ARMALITH® is for you if:
-
Are you tired of sweating in lined motorcycle pants?
-
You want to wear just one pair of jeans all day (in town and on the road).
-
Looking for an alternative to Kevlar jeans – but better.
-
You demand discreet, approved, and technically advanced equipment.
🧠 Good to know:
Unlike Kevlar-lined motorcycle jeans, ARMALITH® is single-layer : lighter, more breathable and just as durable – if not more so .
THE PRINCIPLE OF ARCHITEXTURE
The genius of "architexture" lies in directly integrating
technology in the fabric and no longer as a lining of a garment.
ARMALITH® is obtained by the patented assembly of a cotton fiber with a high-performance reinforcing fiber.
ARMALITH 2.0 is the only material capable of protecting against abrasion (including in the sense of motorcycle standard 13595-2) in a single layer of fabric , while providing the comfort and look of real jeans.
It is therefore a composite fabric, but ARMALITH 2.0 is supple, soft, hydrophilic, airy, and dyed a beautiful indigo color which will develop a patina over time.
ARMALITH® resists abrasion, snags, and tearing while remaining part of the history of genuine denim.
Designed for bikers, built to last
ARMALITH® was created to meet the demands of modern motorcycle riding: style, protection, and mobility. It's the perfect fabric for those who ride daily or travel without wanting to look like a racer.
Some telling figures:
-
Up to 32 m of sliding supported (actual test) without tearing.
-
3.5 times more tensile strength than conventional denim.
-
1.5 times lighter than leather , for all-day protection.
FIBER PERFORMANCE
ABRASION RESISTANCE
Abrasion resistance is a complex phenomenon to analyze. Generally speaking, materials with good compressive strength perform better. In the world of protective gloves, standards have been created to compare materials (see histogram). UHMWPE is by far the best material compared to other fibers and even leather.

LIGHTNESS
UWMWPE is the lightest of the reinforcing fibers. Its density (0.95 kg/L) allows it to float while other fibers exceed 1.6 kg/L.

MECHANICAL STRENGTH
UHMWPE has unique characteristics. Its toughness allows for the manufacture of more efficient bulletproof vests (formerly made of Kevlar®), offshore platform mooring cables (formerly made of steel), military armor, re-entry cables for space modules, etc.

UV RESISTANCE
UV resistance is the weak point of many high-performance fibers such as Kevlar® or PBO. This phenomenon will be accentuated by the moisture regain rate (or hydrophilicity). Can we trust a fiber responsible for our protection, when it loses its properties during exposure to the sun or washing cycles? UHMWPE has a moisture regain rate of 0%. As a result, the fiber maintains its performance despite UV exposure and household washing cycles.

A sustainable and responsible choice
A pair of jeans made from ARMALITH® is also a long-term investment:
-
Less consumption: it replaces several pairs of trousers (city + motorcycle).
-
Ultra durable: fabric designed to withstand years of heavy use.
-
Eco-responsible: washable, recyclable, no chemical additives.

Quick comparison: ARMALITH® vs. classic jeans
Characteristic | Classic jeans | Kevlar-lined jeans | ARMALITH® |
---|---|---|---|
Abrasion resistance | Weak | Good | Excellent |
Motorcycle approval | No | Yes (sometimes) | Yes – CE AA |
Comfort / stretch | Standard | AVERAGE | Excellent (25%) |
Weight | Light | Heavy | Light |
Breathability | Good | Weak | Excellent |
Style | Casual | Technical | Casual / all-purpose |
In summary: why choose ARMALITH®?
✅ Professional-level protection , without the racing look.
✅ Lighter, more flexible and stronger than double Kevlar.
✅ Just one pair of jeans to wear everywhere, every day.
✅ A textile tested, approved, and approved by demanding motorcyclists.
👉 It's more than just jeans. It's invisible armor for real riders.
